Beats inspired by abandonment and BPD

Moving to Secret Boxes

It’s been a long while since I posted here on Waif. A LOT has changed in my life. Some, I won’t be mentioning here, but this I can – I’m no longer freelance writing and editing for work. Seems having a full-time job (with pay and benefits) leaves me little time to keep up with three websites.

The first to go was my editing site – VickiEntreken.com. While a link is still valid, I’m not actively editing for work, so why pay for a site?

Now, the internet world and the AI abuse that writers have suffered (ex. using books to train AI without the author’s permission and without compensation) no longer leaves a space or desire for me to share parts of my memoir here.

That leads me to say good-bye to my writing at Waif.blog, but only here.

Where am I working, you ask? The best way to explain what I’ve been doing for the past year and a half, is to ask you to look at page 3 of the Henderson County Library’s latest newsletter.

My office door!

The good news is that I’ll never stop exploring genealogy research, storytelling, family secrets, digitization & preservation, archiving, and cultural histories through my writing. You can still find all of that at SecretBoxes.org. And while it’s been quiet over there too, it won’t be for long.

If you’re not already subscribed to SecretBoxes.org (it’s FREE of course), please consider joining us there. I’d love to keep you around. 😘

All the best,

Vicki Entreken
